TAKE RESPONSIBILITY, SAVE YOUR GENERATION.By OLOWOMEYE BOLUWAJI F.

In Nigeria some years back, history had it that some great men of vision from different backgrounds, cultures, religion, pledge their allegiance and fought earnestly for the freedom of our dear country. What they all have in common is a positive mindset and this yielded a positive result which brings about our independence.

We read and heard that there was peace, unity, love during that period. And this made our country to prosper in many ways and we refers to it as "BOOM". Kudos to those like-minded men who by the reason of love and responsibility fought for the freedom of Nigeria. It is certainly certain that their memory and impact will never be erased in the heart of men.

Moreover, with all these been said, series of question race in my brain as I look at the present situation of this country. What baffles me most is that the same nation which was earlier known for love, peace and harmony is now known for violence, corruption, fraud and all manner of indecency. What went wrong, what is the cause, what is our expectation?

These are the questions I kept asking myself and I discovered the answer lies in each and everyone of us. We all clamor for fame, power, popularity, money and the likes, at the expense of jeopardizing our future (coming generation), who we stand for. No wonder scripture says in the book of Ezekiel 22:30 that God is seeking a man who will stand in gap but he found none. What a pity? God is seeking for a man who will arise and take responsibility for his generation. Imagine if your family is standing for God and mine is standing for God. Your friends and their families are standing for God, even your friend's friends and siblings are standing for God, says who that we won't have a better society? Says who that the next generation won't serve God and praise his name? Says who they won't have a righteous government? All these, depends on you taking responsibility.

God has blessed you with riches but you fail to help the needy around you. Tell me, are the money not to be spent? Are they not given to you by God to help others who are in need? What's the essence of you being wealthy when you can't help others in need? You may think your generation will never suffer again but tell me is that the mind that was in Christ Jesus? (Phil2:5-7). And to you thinking, “I don't have much with me.” can I tell you, you still have some people that are worse than you. You can help them too.

Regardless of where you find yourself, stand for God just as Daniel. Establish God's kingdom in there and let His will be done there, as it is in heaven. Be it in business, government, force, trade, fashion, artist and other spheres, affect lives positively. Stand for God and take responsibility. Your actions today determines the fate of the coming generations.

God is beckoning on you to take responsibility for your generation. Be that Joshua who said, “As for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” This is a clarion call to everyone. God seek that man who will stand for Him, who will not compromise due to his present state. A man who will intercede for his dear nation. The Nehemiah of this dispensation who will hold a fast for his country. The Daniel that won't defile himself of the king's portion. A man who will establish the heaven on earth. Why can't you be that man?
