An Open Letter to His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, on the Urgent Need for the Establishment of New Public Schools in Igbokoda

The Executive Governor, Ondo State.

Your Excellency Sir,

I write this open letter as a concerned citizen and an indigene of ILAJE  to respectfully draw your attention to the urgent need for the establishment of additional public schools within the Igbokoda axis.

Education remains the foundation of every progressive society. Your administration has demonstrated commitment to improving the educational sector across Ondo State. However, many communities within Igbokoda are still faced with inadequate access to public schools, forcing children to travel long distances before they can receive quality education. This situation has contributed to lateness to school, overcrowded classrooms, increased transportation costs, and, in some cases, school dropout among children from low-income families.

In view of these challenges, I humbly appeal to Your Excellency to approve the establishment of the following schools:

✅A Public Secondary School at GRA/Kofawe, Igbokoda.

✅A Public Secondary School at the Ago-Debo axis of Igbokoda.

✅A Public Primary School at the Okoga/Life-Camp/Setraco junction area of Igbokoda.

These areas have witnessed rapid population growth due to residential and commercial development. Unfortunately, educational facilities have not expanded to match this growth. Many parents and guardians are left with limited options, while existing public schools continue to experience excessive pressure on their facilities and teaching staff.

The establishment of these schools will provide easier access to education, reduce congestion in existing schools, improve learning outcomes, encourage school enrolment, and promote literacy among children within these communities. It will also create employment opportunities for qualified teachers and other education professionals while contributing to the overall socio-economic development of Ilaje Local Government Area.

Your Excellency, investing in education is an investment in the future of Ondo State. The children of GRA/Kofawe, Ago-Debo, Okoga, Life-Camp, Setraco, and neighbouring communities deserve the opportunity to receive quality education in a conducive environment close to their homes.

I therefore passionately appeal to your compassionate leadership to give this request the urgent consideration it deserves. I am confident that your administration will continue to leave lasting legacies that generations yet unborn will appreciate.

May God continue to grant you wisdom, strength, and good health as you lead Ondo State to greater heights.
